Memorial weekend

I had an amazing weekend, it consisted of eating lots of ice cream (coffee ice cream, holla!), spending time with my family, going to church, wearing toms, spending time fellow-shipping and playing games with friends,   and taking pictures, of course. I'm so thankful for all of the men and women who risk their lives each day to keep our country safe, so if you have a family member who fights for our country or you have or do fight for our country, Thank You. It rained for about 15 minutes yesterday, and it rained hard I tell ya. So my sister and I pretty much couldn't pass up the chance to go get all wet and take pictures in the rain. The rest of my week looks like there will be lots of Michael Bublé playing, and lots of school finishing. Oh, and I'm pretty excited because I can now "officially" wear white shoes without feeling like I'm breaking some rules (ahem, think the no white shoes until after memorial day rule), boo-yah. Happy Tuesday!

my problem || and a lizard?

I have this one problem, well it's not exactly a problem...but some may consider it to be.

whenever I wear maxi dresses (or skirts) they drag on the ground (like a lot) because i'm too short. 

5'2" to be exact.

 I know that's not super, super short but I mean sometimes I would appreciate if I didn't have to hem all my pants or when I buy capris they look like awkward jeans.

oh well, I do actually love being short, even though I just rambled on about the things I don't like about it. 

And weird thing is, I do not like heels. is that odd? probably. Okay it's not that I don't like them it's more like I cannot function in them, really. And this gal does not need anymore awkwardness added to her life. Maybe I will post outfit shots of me with heels, who knows?:)

oh and hey, there was a lizard in our backyard so I had to take a picture of him.

awkward and awesome thursday

awkward:

-shopping at goodwill and having to try skirts on by slipping them over your shorts, in front of everyone. hey everyone, I just don't feel like going into the tiny little changing rooms, okay!

-just going about your normal morning face washing routine and grabbing what I thought was my face toner but was actually nail polish remover! I started to rub it all over my face and then suddenly realized the horrible mistake I made, I was freaking out, but my skin is fine...and free of all nail polish I guess;)
-when writing the date for my sermon notes I wrote "5/20/11" instead of "5/20/12"... I seriously keep thinking it's 2011 still sometimes:P
-when you are eating at a restaurant and someone from another table keeps staring at you. hey random person I know i'm just super attractive eating my burger, but please, please stop staring.
-it was race week downtown this week, so we had to go of course, and it was crrraaaazzzzy busy! and with lots of people comes lots of awkward moments...like people who think it's okay to squeeze past you and end up rubbing all of their nasty sweat on you. oh joy.
-seeing people from the news channel in real life. t.h.e  w.e.i.r.d.e.s.t   t.h.i.n.g  e.v.e.r.
-the word people. just say "people" like 10 times fast. ha, it's funny right?
-when it gets like slightly warm and humid so my makeup melts and my hair frizzes....yippeeeee.
-when you are eating a hot dog and you squirt too much ketchup and mustard on it and when you take a bite it spills all over then end. does that only happen to me? haha

awesome:
-free stuff. need I say more?
-milkshakes....yummmmay.
-free ice cream! I like food guys.
-hilarious skype conversations with friends=)
-they guy who works at our sam's club with like the craziest hair ever. he's awesome.
-vintage VW bugs and Jeeps with no doors...:)
-fonts, especially free fonts.
-having lots of summer plans, ah I can't wait to be officially done with school!

I apparently have a thing with putting the leaves in focus. bam.

the days are getting warm and long, school is finishing up, watermelon has become a necessity in our home...it's almost summer. These are probably the best and worse days out of the whole year for me, all I want to do is spend my days outside yet school keeps calling my name. So to all of you who are out for this year I congratulate you, in a very envious jealous kind of way.:) So go outside and take pictures with your guitar, and if you don't have one, then take your neighbors...unless they don't have one either, than you're out of luck. When do you get out of school?

change || prayer requests

as we enter this new time of the year we all like love to call summer I have been thinking a couple changes are in order for me, and my blog. I love blogging, it is truly something that has become a part of who I am and something I want to keep pursuing.  There's a couple changes I want to make on my little website in this vast world of the internet, not big changes, just small. For one, I'm thinking a new design is in order, I do like the current one I have....but I don't love it, I would like something more me and more fresh. I know I just changed it like a couple weeks ago, I just haven't found a design I'm totally smitten for yet.=)

another thing I may be doing differently is just adding more outfit posts, style is something I really do love and as I have been getting older my style of clothing has also been maturing too. I want the purpose of my blog to be something to help me keep my memories and to connect with other people, not only around the country, but the world too. I have already made some great friends through blogging, not just are they just great friends, but girls who are like me and that I can relate with. And I may add a recipe or two...like literally... through the whole summer, I don't really add recipes on here unless they have chocolate or it's a dessert item...=) But other than that not much will be different content wise, I will probably post about my adventures a lot. yes, even the awkward ones.:)

And as for changes for me...well I hope this summer can be a time where I can grow spiritually and more maturely.  Next year my studies are going to be even harder and more demanding, so I'm hoping I can gain more discipline and less procrastination (it's no secret around here I procrastinate a lot:). I'm going on a missions trip this summer so that will hopefully be a time of great spiritual growth and also a time to help others and become less self centered and more others focused. I also want to become more real with you all, show who the real me is more, I feel like I butter my blog up so I look like i'm a lot better than I really am, so I'm going to start being more me on my blog and not any other blogger. Even though I may gain lots of inspiration from other bloggers I'm going to try and keep true to myself and what I like. no one else.

 I have a couple prayer request for you all with helping me with theses changes:

1. That I could get all of my money raised up for the missions trip i'm going on this summer

2. I could finish up my studies soon and strong this year!

the other day I was watching the Diary of Anne Frank movie and not only did her amazing story inspire me, but their style of clothes did also. Why did this inspire me? Well, because they had such cute clothes and yet modesty was something that was important to them. They respected their bodies more, and cared about what they were and were not showing. I'm not only talking about this move, but this time period in general. (oh, and Shabby Apple you guys. they have THE best dresses!)

oh, and those ridiculous glasses, yeah I don't wear those in public. 

and I never shall.

I just they think are fun and and nerdy in their own kind of way.
